It's "yard sailing season" here in "Pure Michigan" spotted this after several stops prior. A September 1941 dated 75 caliber MK1 Navy round. Not my cup of tea but I couldn't leave it behind. If anyone knows more about it, please share. I originally posted this in the "last finds" section. Any idea as to current value? Thank you in advance and Thanks for looking! OD -

I was assigned to the 30th Artillery Brigade on Okinawa in 1970. The Oozlefinch was somewhat known within the unit. The 30th is the lineal descendent of the WW1 Railway Artillery Reserve. When it was reactivated in the early 1960s, the Institute of Heraldy suggested the unit wear a version of their old WW1-1920's Oozlefinch SSI. The commander vetoed that idea. I have always regretted not having the opportunity to wear the glorious Oozlefinch. -

My brother has lived in Lancaster for a decade and only now have I finally made it to the show. Well worth it, even with the heat this year. In a way.... As atb answered, it was the Coast Artillery mascot and now Air Defense Artillery. I've used it as my name for collecting/militaria forums for twentyish years because of my coast artillery obsession. -

I recall when the unit was activated at Ft. Wainwright in 1972. I was assigned to the S2/3 section of the installation HQ, and there was activity to have some range area prepared for the Cobras to use.
