That is a really nice collection.   The Papago Park Military Reservation in Phoenix had a great museum on site with a lot of 158th history, but it had some issues come up several years ago and I think it is still in limbo now.  Hence it has been closed for several years.   Here are the few 158th items that I have.

Sling looks like an issue sling from what I have read early 1944 the color went to a darker OD webbing and can be found with the C tips or the half moon like these in steel or brass.  They webbing weave looks like the correct 9-line weave from 44 on. Some of the later issue ones will have MRT stamped on them

Thank you @vintageproductions and @manayunkman!   Yeah, they are impossible to find here. Fortunately, the seller is based in Germany, so there is no tariff. If he lived in the US, both the German tax and the shipping would double that price (plus the German post office always wants extra money for the fact, that they "paid" your import taxes before they deliver it and they not only want it paid back, but also demand a minimum 10% extra-cost for payibg it in the first place).   I will go ahead and try and buy it :)) Wish me luck, that it works out :)   Jules

All that needed to be done was get a visor cover and screws and replace the liner on that helmet.

It is really beautiful.  The colors are so vivid.  I think it's art as well.  I'm glad you liked reading my thread and I'll certainly try to keep it going.  Thank you for your comments.  Matt

Thanks Peter.  Took most of my lifetime to gather all of the material you see this particular post.  About 50 years collecting off and on.  Of course I missed out on some great items over the years but that's probably a good thing when it comes to staying happily married.  In the 37 years my wife and I have been married she has certainly been gracious when it comes to my collecting for which I am so blessed.  I don't deserve the angel I've been married to and yet God brought her into my life.  I'm a lucky man and I know it.

Thank you, OriginalCollector for the additional detailed description and information. I wish I had more answers regarding the cap. EasternEagle's memory is correct that my Grandfather was stationed in Germany during the KW, but he was also very active in the Hungarian community of Cleveland he settled in, frequently trading items, so I unfortunately have no idea how this cap and belt came into his possession.   Is it possible the band was intentionally applied upside down in a subtle protest of the nazi regime?   I am happy to hear the belt and buckle are a complete set. I can confirm the buckle is very light, which aligns with it being aluminum instead of iron.   I live in the San Diego area.  If there is anyone around here interested, I would be happy to show the two items in person or meet at a show to verify authenticity and/or negotiate a sale.  Thank you.

I have seen 3 different manufacturers of monoculars used by the Air Force starting in the early 1950's. They are all 6 X 30 and all have the same fleece lined cloth cases. I believe the first was the Wollensak. This monocular was specified as a component in the SAC E-1 Individual Long Range Sustenance Kit. That specification is dated 24 August 1950. The monocular was also a component of the B-58 Hustler kit. I believe the Wollensak monocular was also used in the B-58 kits. The other two monoculars are slightly larger than the Wollensak and don't fit well in the fiberglass B-58 container. I believe all 3 were used as an optional item in various survival kits of the time. I have never seen a date the larger ones were manufactured.   The other two slightly larger ones are made by Frankford Arsenal and are marked Property of United States Air Force and the other is made by Universal Camera Corp. Both are nearly identical to each other.   I believe nagmashdriver is correct that the cases were all made by the same manufacturer and paired with the monocular. The top monocular is Universal Camera, the bottom two are Wollensak. You can see the Universal and Frankford Arsenal monoculars is slightly larger than the Wollensak. You can see a zipper variant in the Wollensak  cases, but each of the cases use a Prentice zipper,   This also shows a comparison of the sizes.
