Hi, I recently purchased this frame at a antique store in Winsted CT. The medals were all set back in place and I had to have this when i saw it in the store. I was wondering if the purple heart is marked but not about to take it all apart to find out. Did you affix all the medals back in place and redo the back of frame? Is the Purple heart marked? Where was the trailer located where this was found? Thank you for saving this. -

Like many other collectors of paratrooper wings I stay away from those that have attachments as 99.9% of them are bogus. I was searching on eBay and saw this particular wing which I immediately thought was bogus when I noticed the caduceus on the front. I was about to click away when I noticed that it was a clipped wing. I haven't seen one of those in a while and I don't think I have ever encountered an attachment on a clipped wing before other than an arrow head or combat jump stars. I pulled up the various photos and noticed the SILVER hallmark and realized this was a Japanese occupation era made wing. The caduceus had patina despite having had the majority of the details polished off over time. The vendor did not seem to sell strictly militaria and had mentioned buying a bag of military pins and metals which they were listing. This was the only elite unit insignia the rest mostly miniature WW1 and WW2 sweetheart type lapel pins. I felt this was an unauthorized modified paratrooper wing worn by a medic in the 11th Airborne Division during the occupation. It was probably worn on the front of their cap and not one of the made up bogus ones you see every now and then on eBay. Luckily for me most other potential buyers probably saw the caduceus and kept clicking away as there was only one other bidder so I got it for only 34 dollars. -

So, when I really went down the rabbit hole today I found a government web site that showed the foot print of the fort and the roads around it in stick figure layout. It was a little better than what the lady drew for me because it was in scale. On that lay out it showed something not found on any other web site. It gave the footprint of the fort cemetery in relation to the fort footprint including the roads in the area. I was able to go back to an older satellite photo on Google Earth with better resolution and GPS that location. The resolution on Google Earth on the current setting was so bad I could not see the fort when I was looking for it the night before last. -

You have an uncut model 1905 bayonet dated 1943, all of the 16" bayonets are dated, either 1942 or 1943. Very nice bayonet. However the rare one is a factory 10" m1 bayonet that is dated 1943, as almost all of the 10" were undated. -

I thought the same, but then what would a mint one bring nowadays, 3k?, more. So then it is less than half price. I listed my rehandled Blade dated Kinfolks after watching this listing! -

I saw a number of these stacked stones. Some in circles, some in the shape of rectangles and others like this. They are all over the place. I know the Mojaves lived in the area for a very long time. I assume these were used for dwellings of one kind or another. -

These black rocks struck me as odd. No other black rocks were seen anyother place,They came from some place else. Maybe unworked obsidean or coal. I did not pick them up.
