I just aquired 3 cartridge belts, 1 I have identified to my satisfaction the other don't quite match my reference books. The first appears to be a Miils Model 1887 cavalry belt, but has a"C" closure not a plate and is tan not blue as described in my guide. It's likely as not I'm not seeing the right Model in this book. It could be a variation not noted in this book. It is tan double rifle cartridge loops and 6 38 loops, brass belt tips are marked with the Mills Model 1887 dates. -

Yeah I don't think it would hurt it any. Most of the value of these are how wide they are anyways. Just because guys try to fit them to the repo stocks. -

Hello there experts! I was recently gifted this purple heart and I am curious what era it is as well as army vs navy contract? I've tired to do my own research but honestly they all look about the same to me, so please educate me! Also please let me know if you need better pictures, I'm just not sure what details to be looking for to get a positive ID. I can see that its not numbered. Any help would be great, Thanks! -

I’m thankful he survived. I think it’s fairly uncommon to see such a graphic description of wound(s) in a WWII morning report. -
