Normandy looked very nice as we passed over it at 37,000 ft this lunchtime having spent a week visiting  'Ava Gardner' and the scene of the filming of ' Pandora and The Flying Dutchman '. From that height you could see why the Bocage was such a tough nut to crack.

The legs are bolted in place with carriage bolts and wing nuts. Really an awkward system. And it took 2 friends and myself to set it up.  It's a very heavy desk.

There's a large amount of loose rank, branch insignia....hats, etc...a set of BDUs and his dress greens, as well as his flight jacket and a complete set of dress blues. He said his father was adamant that he not spend eternity in a uniform, so he was buried in civvies....   Mark sends

Right as Theresa arrived, Mike was one step ahead of her with his father's items. He'd stopped in a few weeks ago to tell us about his father and to ask if we would give his dad's artifacts a home...the following Tuesday he had a heart attack and was laid up for a bit, so he made it a priority to get almost all of his dad's remaining items to us...he still plans on bringing his fathers shadow box with his awards and decs...the sexiest item of the lot was his dad's flight helmet....   Mark sends

I was issued the US Army type in 1963 during basic training at Ft. Gordon.  We called them "KP Caps." never understood why.  Post Basic training we wore the Ridgeway cap. Liners were sold at the PX for the KP Caps to make them look stiff.  Nice post.
