I guess, it must have been the same uniform. But I totally get the picture and the scene does resemble ones from Felini movies... Thank you for your service and this personal story! Kind regards, Jules -

I couldn’t tell from the eBay pictures that it had a pinup design on the front! Guard is a bit loose and most of the finish is gone but still a nice addition to the collection. Appears to be named to one Lou J. Buscio. -

Im not sure if its the same uniform... But I have to mention this... In 1981... one of the things that kept me from joining the Navy (Besides fear of the deep blue) Was the Navy recruiter came to pick me up one morning. I was sitting on the front porch.. and one of those Black Navy 4 doors pulled up and out stepped the Navy recruiter wearing all black from head to toe. Tie shoes everything. I got this chill like the undertaker or death had arrived for me. I took it as an omen and joined the Army Guard.... It was the last straw... Looking back, a part of me wishes I had done it. But at 18... you know.... The car the uniform, the guy all Black.... hair yellow blond hair.. Reminded me of Death come to get me... like in a scene from a Felini movie!!! -

Wow! Thats awesome! Do you collect from those times? Im guessing you served on those river boats? I rekon you have many mementos of your time there? I was just National Guard Army. 81-99 Signal Corps and mainly Infantry and anti Armor. About a year and a half with the Army Reserve. MI Battalion. TOWS... No combat. Just trained. You're in good company as there are many vets on here and some active too! Cheers! -

I can't tell who made this box. It resembles a Rifleman's box, for the Mississippi. It would use a single tin, not the two tins of the 55 type rifles -

I have seen this before, and the only conclusion I could come to was that the state the soldier came from also had a WWI service medal that they gave out, and they used the same ribbon. It isn't anything that I have proven though.
