Wow! Thats awesome! I was just National Guard Army. 81-99 Signal Corps and mainly Infantry and anti Armor. About a year and a half with the Army Reserve. MI Battalion. TOWS... No combat. Just trained. You're in good company as there are many vets on here and some active too! Cheers!

I can't tell who made this box. It resembles a Rifleman's box, for the Mississippi. It would use a single tin, not the two tins of the 55 type rifles

I have seen this before, and the only conclusion I could come to was that the state the soldier came from also had a WWI service medal that they gave out, and they used the same ribbon. It isn't anything that I have proven though.

I went to boot camp in 1977 and was issued the Navy blue wool shirt, and thought What the F it looked so odd with the black pants and never wore it ( thankfully)

I have a repro cartridge box that I'm trying to figure out. It measures just over 7" wide, by 1.5" deep. Two normal tins do NOT fit in it side by side. Thanks    

Also the Camp McCoy makes it older as its now Fort McCoy
