Hi Paul, from Escanaba to Lake Linden would be about a 3 hour drive but certainly one of the most beautiful drives you could take. Escanaba has a nice museum called the Upper Peninsula Military Museum, its fairly new but they have done a great job so far. If I'm not mistaken, the prop is the only piece of the aircraft that was brought back to the states. I am up there from time to time and one day I will get into the museum there to see if they have anything else. It certainly would be quite the experience to hold those items, I'm glad they let you do that. -

Post WW2 so they are more of a novelty but also very cumbersome. Still easily worth $100-$150. If you want to keep it as a display maybe $200. A drawback with these 90mm AP's, they are a beast of a shell and very difficult to ship if you sell it to a location far from where they are at. I suppose you could sell it as a "local pick up only". You can't use a cardboard box because the round can push through the box even with lots of reinforcement. Needs internal wood barriers or a wooden crate. So, expensive to ship. I'd say the listing you mentioned would have to have a substantial added shipping cost. -

Hi Scott, My son's fiance just moved out east here but she grew up in Escanaba MI. Is that any where near Lake Linden? Also I believe that Sgt. LaMotte's remains were, along with Lt. Toner's, among they initial group of five that were discovered in 1960. Still reeling a bit from being able to actually hold Lt. Toner's diary and signet ring. s -

@soncc, I second @Blacksmith, there is a plethora of publicly-available threads here on USMF covering US 2nd Division items. I too saw these on eBay, and personally I’d wait for better examples of uniforms to pop up. No one I know who collect AEF are biting on these either. 2nd Division (especially USMC) is one of those units from WWI whose items are highly valued but also equally faked and forged. I’d recommend being patient, doing book/forum research in the meantime and wait for solid stuff to show up; from what I’ve learned it’s better to wait than jump the gun on high-value items like these. Good idea asking for opinions! Hopefully all this input encourages you to dive deeper into the topic. Something I’ve learned too, don’t feel afraid to PM people here on USMF for advice. There’s some great 2nd Division collectors on the site! Best Regards, -J.D. -

Franco, Fantastic job on assembling your M-592. A lot of work and $$$ to make one complete. I know how it is as I've spent a few years assembling one with all the correct components. Mine is nearly complete still in search of the (elusive at least to me) blue and yellow poncho. Just haven't be able to acquire one yet. Again great job, looks great! -

In most examples I have ever seen, the gloves were green, also in official photos :( Maybe @dustin can say more about. ScottN - nice kit! -

Thanx to members for all their kind comments 🙂👍 please just one question - would those gloves be correct, having wristlets in white as well?, remember seeing the greenish ones within such survival kits, or at least a few variations of the D-2 mechanics gloves in AAF setups. In case of the latter if I'm not wrong, yes glove's hand is white but wristlet is not. -
