How does one go about re uniting dog tags?... There are a lot of variables.. Where they were acquired for instance.. Found on a battlefield? Or overseas? Ive heard of people tracing the family. I would imagine its very rare. Bought on ebay etc etc...? I dont see any issue at all. I have my old dog tags... after Im gone, who knows what will happen to them and I dont care.. and I wont care.. lol Families give them away.. throw them away.. people find them on ebay in flea markets in the garbage even. Un ethical? If you found a body and took them off and sold them then yea. Otherwise I dont see anything unethical about selling or buying dogtags. My two cents. P.S. I had a helmet once with a guys name and number engraved it it.. Korean War combat vet AZNATION prob remembers as he found the guys info and phone number for me.. Thanks again Sir.... Sometimes people want the stuff and sometimes they dont want any part of it.. Families too. I called the guy and he hung up on me. So..... Cheers! Welcome aboard. -

Keeping the topic alive. Here is a jumper with mermaids on the cuffs. Fabric of the jumper looks pretty modern, so it looks like someone is keeping the tradition alive. The jumper is on ShopGW. They do suck about posting pictures, so this is all that shows. -

Judging from past statements regarding the subject you're addressing I'm pretty sure you won't find too much agreement with your point of view on this forum and that's ok. To each his own and I don't take offense at your view. I don't want to go round and round on this because I'm sure we could and it wouldn't change your mind or mine but... Here's something to think about. Historical Preservation: Military collectors play a vital role in preserving history. Without collectors and military historians, many historic artifacts from past conflicts could be lost, discarded, or destroyed over time. The Secondary Market Reality: In the vast majority of secondhand sales (probably 95% of the time), it was the veteran or their family who originally decided to part with the tags, often selling them at estate sales, pawn shops, or to surplus dealers. Anyway, take care and God Bless! Also, welcome to the forum. There's so much to look at on this forum and the variety is endless, so enjoy! -

I've seen that page, Yes. Rob van Meel is helping me out sourcing some parts through his contacts. Those leather frame pouches go for some mad money. Almost inclined to get a Soviet 'copy' 😄 1944 British SCC No.15 paint is going to be a bit of a pain to source, I think.(unless you want to order a gazillion miniature painting pots). Yesterday someone gave my parents a bag of military equipment, "That boy of yours can probably use this"... 😐 Most of it was 1980-90s KL web gear, a 1960s West-German canteen and Kids pyjamas in Dutch forest camo . But the Dutch helmet had a nice hi-pressure liner, passable for an M1 liner with a few tweaks. And there was a dirty M6 Lightweight Gas Mask Bag, Saved those two things....rest is probably going in the flea market bin
