I agree with Jumpship. Looks like the pre-war blue denim fatigues (dungarees?)

I am unable to give a point by point assessment, I do NOT get a good impression from this one.   The leather chin strap in the liner does not look like originals I have seen. Further, the application of the insignia on the cloth helmet cover looks sloppy and not what I would expect to see on a genuine military used piece of gear. 

It could be a very early numbered style, but I couldn't say for sure. There may be other collectors who have posted low numbered DFCs here in the medals section of the forum.

I know there are a lot these badges out there, But I have been trying to find one that is not overly priced and did. I like that there is wear on it. 

Here's my example of similar flag, stamped Rock Island Arsenal 1918. Measures 22" x 36" and is made of cotton bunting. This one has more a defined "D" ring but the stitching and overall construction are very similar.

American National Space Administration ANSA patch from the 1968 Planet of the Apes, the fictious organization when movie takes place, that is when the spaceship takes off, this being the year 1972.   They sell this on the Bay LOL.

The Naval Wedding of singer Barbara Mandrell in 1967, the groom, Ken Dudney, is a pilot, His service record is incomplete and contractionary, from what I can tell, he doesn't spend much time in, one talk on him says he was a recent grad of flight school, gets married, and shortly after leaves the Navy to manage his new wife's career, that basically means he resigned his commission.   They are still married
