hello Jerry thanx for the message and the pictures. Yes I was aware, a few pieces are not too corrrect if compared to the official listing, as well as the spot being left empty by the missing flares - I had got one surplus Drinking Water Kit (the other being inside the USAAF C-2 pararaft kit) so, I put that in place of the flares. The said Water Kit is unopened and complete inside. For the rest I'm quite satisfied this way. This is the only survival kit I really wished to get, sooner or later, virtually completed - the other two M-592s on display as worn by the pilots (one for each of manufacturers) are without the original contents, and the same is for my very recent B-4 USAAF Survival Kit (mfg. by Companion Bags, Co.). This latter is a great finding, even if empty and missing most of straps that turned it into a back-type kit, when needed. As a seat-type pack I put it together w/ the C-2 pararaft and the standard seat cushion. -

Wow, nice pricey kit, Franco! I guess the FA kit is a little bit messed (I'm not sure about some brands of the two components, but still not bad! It looks like an extra pocket has been added at the flap. Here are a couple of shots of Dustin kits, complete (including correct FA six unit set) for comparing them. -

Another M-592 (that, too, made by New England Bedding Co.) had gone many years ago onto the late war USN pilot. Technically the thing would be somehow uncorrect 'cause by then the newer design of multi-pocket flight suit together with the new PK-1 pararaft ensemble, had made the back kit redundant. However I've left it there (empty of survival items, only fitted with some filler) just to show the complete display. -

hello all, in fact this would be more precisely about 95% completed I guess - a very few items are still missing (like the emergency signalling flares) but all the 'parking spots' are occupied, maybe two-three of them by items that technically there wouldn't be if looking at official lists and period pictures of. Not so much paramount to me to get even those items too. Already it has been a too long time waiting to find a M-592 fitted with at least 2/3 of survival items, plus more time and some money it took to find and get the remaining ones; so, it's decidedly good this way. Just photos here to look at (taken at my best) without descriptions, all members who are really interested in these subjects sure do know already what the thing is and wich items respectively are shown. Cootie hat up on PoshMark. Interesting to see a 80's date on it. -

Thrifting today and found these very cool Cold War US Army Khaki issue shorts. I had seen pictures of AF personnel wearing shorts with the belted safari jacket. However, I never knew the Army had them. -
