Found this in the United Kingdom at a flea market for about $10. Curious if anyone could tell me what type of light(s) it held, what they were used for and approximate age of it?  Google lens seems to think it’s WW2 but that seems a bit too far back I think? Would like to pass it along it as I’m moving house, is it worth anything?   The trunk was handled by the USAF Air Materiel Command at Warner Robins AFB in GA.  The label on right side is a bit difficult to read but looks like it was shipped to an officer at some type of control depot. The box itself was made by the Winship Company of Utica, NY (kind of cool bc my grandparents lived there all their lives and I find it in Ol’Blighty!).     Thanks in advance for any help or guidance!

Thanks for the reply! It's really cool to learn about how and where this thing might've been used.

This SPH-4b would have been used on the Littlebird series of helicopters, like the MH-6 for example. Even after the HGU-56/p was in service, the SPH-4b was used by Littlebird pilots. Because of the larger size of the HGU-56/p, the older SPH-4b was favoured for its smaller size, which was more suitable for the small cockpit of Littlebird helicopters. these SPH-4b´s would be upgraded with the CEP plug, liplights for use with NVG´s and be painted in CARC-black, short for Chemical Agent Resistant Coating. Overall a very nice and fairly rare helmet in a good but used condition. If you wanna learn more, you should check out this topic about SPH-4b helmets.   Greetings from Germany😁

Originally I thought this was an armband, but then when I actually “connected” the pieces of Velcro I realized that this is a Can Koozie:

Shell is a WW2 McCord rear seam. Maybe you could post a more sharp image of the lot stamp?

I think any "shop" will be the highest possible price you could pay. There is nothing wrong with that but I have items in my collection that I have seen for sale for huge money. I know I could never sell the same item for near that much money. JMO, Dave

The patch I luckily found but the medals are all part of a great group to a USMC pilot who was lost during that raid 💯   Kurt

Nice close up images. Thanks   Probably didn’t explain it clearly. It’s a small round mark on the rim — like a tiny punch mark. All McCord shells from lot 25 through 623 have these marks, while Schlueter shells do not. McCord shells produced after this range have depressions on the outside instead, including fixed-loop shells from 623 to 796. These can be difficult to see or even feel because of the paint and texture. It’s a quick and useful way to determine the approximate lot stamp range when the stamp itself is hard to read.   Dimples.   Dimples from the outside. Not all are this clear.     Depressions from the outside.
