An awesome day with the Grand daughter to be sure. Here in Michigan we have a propeller from the plane. It is in the Upper Peninsula in the town of Lake Linden which was the home of the radio operator Robert LaMotte. I have visited it many times and it is near the county museum but the museum has never been open so I am uncertain if they have any of LaMotte's items. Scott -

. just heard the news. just received the news that John Worthing has died, John and Mary Worthing possibly made ninety percent of the canvas products for British owners of wartime military vehicles for maybe forty or fifty years. Their use of American made canvas was a big selling point for their products, in many ways, the style, the feel, the look and its waterproofing qualities. Their products also became used by continental owners of military vehicles. John and Mary were early members of the MVCG group from its initial 1970's beginnings. They sold on the company a couple of years ago due to health and age issues. Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, 19 May 2O26. .. -

Nice shot Roy Boehm. LITS of history on this warrior. Wondering what the insignia is above the eagle on his beret. -

Small collection that I pulled from the vault the other day. I can't recall but one of either 52nd or 158th Vol. Badges belong to my great, great uncle Merle Hiner. I'll have to ask Wailuna to dig out the family records, definitely He was in the 34th Infantry at one point. -

Michigan's Military Heritage Museum located at 311 N. Wisner St in Jackson Mi is working on a military round table gathering. Basically a monthly or perhaps quarterly gathering of collectors, authors, historians, etc... The museum would provide a meeting place, maintain a schedule calendar and host anyone interested in gathering, discussing collecting news, military history, sharing items, and networking. If anyone here is interested in participating please PM me your information so I can contact you with meeting dates and we can exchange ideas for meeting topics. My thoughts are to hold the meetings on a Saturday afternoon as most local shows are on Sundays in this area. The time would be determined by those interested in attending, and each meeting would last about an hour though anyone wishing to hang around would be welcome. Thanks for any and all interest.
