Your knife without the bakelite spacers is shown on page 536, #1, in Bill Walters Book II. I am not sure if it is an early example or not.

Not sure how I missed these replies...I'll post the interview soon, and be sure to post it here when I do! We did talk about it a fair bit, of course as it's an interest to me. Some details that collectors would be interested in might be a bit foggy, but there are some great anecdotes about his training and overall experience. His experience at Iwo Jima did overshadow it in his memory.    I've got a tentative plan to interview another Paramarine in about a week, if anyone else has questions! Gear Fanatic, I'll try to work those in!   Patrick

I was hoping someone may have been able to nail down the production patterns of the Kabar Commando’s by now and may be able to tell me the rough time periods each was made. I’ve read many of post and forums but have came up empty handed. This example here appears to be an odd one that I haven’t been able to find another of yet. It is parkerized but has a full leather stacked handle with no Bakelite spacers. Were the Bakelite spacers added later?

There are other lots that belonged to Sargeant Major Peloza.  One includes his dog tags and paperwork. Another has his whole career displayed with his rank insignia framed up. There is a named sword holder. These were meant as spoof medals. The one shown is this thread is quite rare. The other one listed comes up from time to time and it is already at what I would consider a market price. Quintessential China Marine material, maybe some-one will step up and rescue the group.

Thanks Dave.  If you do have time this summer to make a trip there, give me a shout out and I be happy to meet up and go with you.  I'd love to see these items again.

. Hi Kat,   thank you for trying to answer the question.   Hi aznation   Welcome on board again, correct thank you,  These are the joint couplings for the PLUTO pipeline, ( Pipe Line Under The Ocean ), Victaulic is a coupling without need for welding, flaring or threading the pipe joints. it has a ' V ' channeled rubber seal inside the coupling, and amazingly the rubber seals in these couplings appear still un-perished even after eighty years unused. Made by the Gustin-Bacon Manufacturing Company of Kansas, I wonder if the workers in the factory ever knew what they were making even though they must have made hundreds of thousands of them.           Norman D.
