Thank you again Matt, Myself and the Vets family very much appreciate all the help you provide on this as forum. I know his family will be happy to learn more about their deceased loved one. I didn't realize it until I saw his picture that I knew Arthur as he would frequent our local Veterans Museum in the early 2010s. I also put together that because of his experience with LCTs he was assigned as a contractor Liason for the Overhead Beach Cable systems experimented with in the late 50s. The program would later be determined too dangerous due to rocking ships,cable tension, and overhead heavy loads. There was a good amount of related paperwork in the box pictured. Thanka again -

Prefix of DSA-1 without a Year suffix (which is what you have) is from 1965. -

I respectfully must disagree that we made helmets for the British before we entered the war. The British had to give us over 600000 helmets upon our entrance into the war. By late 1917 the us was in mass production of helmets. I do not believe we were supplying the British with helmets. I have several British made US used Brodies including my Grandpas helmet. I have never seen a US made British used M1917. Anyone ever see one? -
