Yes forgot to tell about mechanics of the rifle this is STRAIT PULL BACK IF ANYBODY NOT FAMILIAR WITH THEM.20,000 WERE PURCHASED FOR TRAINING APPARENTLY THERE VERY ACCURATE BUT NOT FOR MUDDY TRENCHES WW1 THINK MARK 3 MADE IT THERE ENFIELD RIFLE .US ARMY ONLY USED THESE FOR TRAINING ENJOY THANKS FOR COMMENTS 

If I remember correctly, the US bought 20,000 of these rifles along with their bayonets.

Just found out the woodwork. Local find ross Canadian made 303 british ww1 us government bought these for training purposes only never went to the front apparently. Rifle is marked correct flaming ORDANCE US MARKED KIND OF SCARCE MOST HAVE BEEN SPORTIZED BY BUBBA this one is original

They are, or at least were. I bought a dozen of them at a junk store in Big Spring 30 years back. Most of them went to friends locally. Do you need one? If so I'll ask if any of them still have one

This latest one looks at first like an overcoat, but due to it being single-breasted and having the plain buttons, I think it more likely to be the full sized cape. No details on the collar unfortunately. Odds are from the gathering of the material that it’s lined. ^Preble at the Excelsior Brigade. That reminds my QE  of the scene in the beginning of GO FOR BROKE when Van Johnson's character reports for duty in this new assignment after graduation from Infantry OCS and sees one of his new men in Class A with Leggings on, and gives him a kinda mild rebuke for wearing them while not being Under Arms, Nisei replies he did this because uniform coat and the pants are real long and did this with the pants he says I think to stop tripping over the cuffs and something to that effect LOL
