I have done some research on this vet - Bedford Samuel Fox, and he was reported as part of the Medical Detachment at Walter Reed Hospital. Listed on the morning report of that Medical Detachment dated Feb 28, 1922, Pvt Fox was transferred to the Detachment Patients on the 27th of the month.  Its a bit puzzling and I am not quite sure if that means he was being treated at Walter Reed and then was finally discharged or whether he was part of the Medical Detachment (i.e., had transferred from the Infantry to the Medical Corps) after the war? 

Hello, I would like to ask if anyone could help me identify this helmet. Is it original? I think so, you can even see the rest of the ZC7 marking which points to Edward. G. Budd Manufacturing Co. I would need help identifying the division.  

I was going through my copy of Lazlo's book on the WWI Interallied Victory Medal and found this reference to the same sort of document that I have in this grouping (page 35):    

The serial number, 474629, puts production of the engine in the 1943-45 range (serial numbers roll over to 500K in 1946 and ran to 300K ending in 1942).  The "D" suffix on the model AK indicates that the engine was equipped with a "stellite" exhaust valve (a high-performance alloy exhaust valve for extreme duty conditions). While I am not actively collecting much anymore, you can't pass on a deal. The 3rd Armored Ike was found locally, guy wanted way too much but I got him down to a reasonable price-unfortunately, there isn't a single name or number in the Ike, probably given for discharge. The KW 24th was found on eBay, I did add the ribbons as you could see where they and the CIB were, cool bullion and numbered brass-another one with no markings at all, I am fine with that as I don't need any research projects and will probably be flipping these soon.  Enjoy, Mark

Man I had to reread this whole post to find the “FEMA” connection.

Hey folks… this came in a parts box with M91/30 and PPSh parts in it. I know that these are for Remington 700s, also used on the M40 Sniper Rifles. Aluminum; appears flat gray finished on the inside with a brownish coating slathered over it later on the outside. Moisture protection? Is there any way to tell if it is am M40 buttplate by characteristics? Thanks in advance for any expertise. 

Nice groupings!   The temptation to not shoot them would probably be overwhelming for me?   I also have 3 currently.  The first one I bought years ago was 5K, but that one got sold for an upgrade.  A Thompson is more like having an oldsmobile with maybe a 455?  Eventually pretty fast, handles like a boat, but will peel rubber off the line.   Both still an eye catcher when you see nice ones!  

Can anyone date this helmet. stamp number looks like 981 with no letter after. Chinstrap suggests an early type
