Hands down 32nd is most capable, from crossing the Owen Stanley Range, being the first unit air lifted, aerial re-supplied, first to make a beach landing, first division to move as a whole by ship, they wrote the book that all of the others followed.   Had cadre in the Alamo Scout school, more combat time than any Army division, 41 months overseas with 21 in combat. From jungles to mountains, to aerial missions they did it all.       Next to them, I think maybe the 7th as they campaigned in the Aleutians and then the tropics, experience like that lends itself to capability.         After that, the 24th, specifically the 34th regiment which was brought in to assist many units from New Guinea, Biak, Philippine mainland, and the assault on Corregidor. These guys were Eichelbergers fire fighters so to speak.       Scott

Here's one more of the Subdued Vietnamese Made ones, this one sewn to a Tropical Coat from a old auction. Seems apart from the 70s and 80s made Subdued Fully Embroidered Merrowed Edge, ones, In Country subdued patches from this period are rare as hens teeth, never seen them on the Bay in example, I personally have seen like a grand total of three over the years, now four with this posting, and all Vietnamese Made, like why no U.S. Subdued OD on Twills, never seen that, sure some companies must of made them then starting in late 68 into 1969.

32nd had 654 days, the longest of any Army unit in the war, 654 is more than 611 so yes, it was matched and exceeded.

Found this one, wanted to share it, a original early large type by the looks of it. this sewn to a field jacket pocket, one sees only what are repros of the 1960s and we guess the late 60s -70s smaller version, The group's 127th Tactical Fighter Squadron interestingly was Federalized because of the Tet Offensive and the North Korea capture of the USS Pueblo, it was sent to South Korea.  Was well aware of Army Reserve and National Guard units called to active duty with many of these units being set to the RVN, but not Air Force, hmm were some Navy Reservists and or their ships called to active duty too???

I got the suit with the two patches. Do not know whether that makes much sense, perhaps it doesn't, just I preferred to leave the things as they were.

Would be curious on your opinions on this FEMA air medal. I know these are extraordinarily rare, and that there are only a handful known to exist.
