Reviving this thread to add another variation I picked up as the combat patch on a UCP ACU at a thrift store.

I'd have to find it to check, but I've got a Cargo Handling Battalion fatigue shirt where the patch is right shoulder.   Thanks for the pics River Rat!

To be specific I’m talking about the army air corps cadet slate grey uniform and the items worn with it. If anyone has the regs for it I would greatly appreciate it

Not sure if this string is active but I have a yellow/green version of the hat but cannot find the drawing number stamp on the yellow brim area. Since I can't locate that can I say for sure that this was a WWIi production hat? And, unfortunately my hat does hot have the adjustable band - how much does this affect the value? Thanks.

I think it is a solid categorization, though a bit complex it hits all the points. Maybe revise the original for higher end items and have a more basic one for regular more “attainable” items (if you have the time at least 😉). You did a great job summing it and yo and was glad to come upon this thread.

The standard officer's cap device was typically made of brass with a silver colored finish.  The "clouds and lightning" motif on the visor is made of silver bullion wire.
