I had 2 of them and finally scored with number 3 . She was my Secretary and we both were in CALPERS so I knew she had a retirement like mine. Money isn't a problem and her dad was a cop so guns around don't bother her. I've been selling off a lot of my collections but I'm always interested . 20 years ago I would have bought that Zoave. -

Anyone who bid on this went in with their eyes wide open. The seller was upfront with the description. -

Has been painted. If I scratch the paint off the blade to reveal the markings does that affect the the value? Also what time period is this from and what is the strap on the outside of the carrier for? Thank you. -

I bet you would've been tempted. I'm tempted to buy "stuff" all the time. At least I have a modicum of restraint otherwise my wife would put me up for sale, lol -

Thank you for this explanation Steve, this is something I always wondered. So dealing strictly in WW2 is a Coxswain a Boatswain when at the helm of a ship only? I know BM have many different jobs on a ship. Are the other Seaman branch sailors you mentioned considered Coxswain when "Driving" the ship? Is a single stripe Boatswain a Coxswain? Hopefully my question isn't confusing. -

Thank you @KurtA and @Marinecore34 :)) I thought, that it looked strange, too, but I was just wondering if anyone had ever seen something like that before... But it seems, my gut feeling was right, that this is a funky fake :) thank you for the heads-up anyways :D Jules
