Working on a project and was hoping for some help narrowing down a specific timeframe for this button. From my research it looks to be a button made by Benedict and Burnham. Marked B & B EXTRA. Am I correct in dating it pre 1849 when the company became the Waterbury Button Company? Any help is greatly appreciated! -

Stamped? If it is stamped it MAY be authentic. The painted letters trouble me a bit, but I’m afraid that this is not a simple “yes” or a “no” but an “Inconclusive.” -
