FYI...when checking, the earliest known occurrence of the name Herbert Lee Webster American Legion in Tioga, PA according to Newspapers.com was on August 15, 1923. I believe the Herbert Lee Webster whose jacket is shown above is an entirely different Herbert and was not the namesake for the American Legion Post in Pennsylvania. -

Working on a project and was hoping for some help narrowing down a specific timeframe for this button. From my research it looks to be a button made by Benedict and Burnham. Marked B & B EXTRA. Am I correct in dating it pre 1849 when the company became the Waterbury Button Company? Any help is greatly appreciated!
