Glad it was saved from the trash... sad though... a perfect example of why the argument collectors and historians are often the best preservationists.... we really do care and want to preserve Their Memories.... "blue skies" to the deceased....

There's a yard long....which is mounted in a VERY heavy wooden frame that's nearly 5 feet long. The frame looks as if it was made to be part of a fireplace mantel......

This banner is also about 12 X 18 inches, and uses a newspaper photo...the "streaks" are in the original printed photo, not a flaw in the material......

There's two pillow shames...the first is red felt with nicely stitched white letters...the neat thing is the painted and "branded" leather patch, and it has the makers tag still attached to the reverse. There's also a standard silk/fringed pillow sham.

Last year we received the Purple Heart, interment flag and paperwork for Private First Class Ralph H. Hamann, Killed in Action in WWII. This weekend his grandson brought some more artifacts the family located. Just days after Private Hamann was KIA, nearly all of his unit's men were killed or captured and all their vehicles lost in General Patton's raid on Hammelburg in an attempt to liberate the General's son-in-law......the unit photo is about 12 X 18 inches. Unfortunately Private Hamann isn't marked on the photo or any of the others we received.... The Presidential Accolade has President Kennedy's signature block.   Mark sends

None of this is Polar Bear or North Russia, its all from the Siberian expedition. Polar Bears would be 339th Infantry, 310th Engineers, and 337th Hospital and Ambulance, also 167th and 168th Transportation.     Scott
