My cousin's Grandpa was in Co F 349th Infantry Regiment (Info from his grave marker). I found this photo identified as Co F 349th IR and I believe he is tenth from your right standing, second row. The only photo I've seen of him is from 1954. Shape of face, brow line and nose seem to match up to the 1918 photo. What is your opinion? Yes or no? -

Yes, but I'll bet none were made with a flat edge. I haven't seen one yet. Since the approval dat was 21 Nov 1967, I think production from the beginning was with merrowed edges and started in 1968. -

So a flat edge Recruiting Cmd (theoretically only being made for a year) could be a scarce variant. (Not that too many of us would care). -

+1. The Patent # is present so it is no later than early 1967. If available clear pics of the engraving and the base would be helpful. -

That SSI for Recruiting Command was approved in 1967. Later, the "RECRUITING" tab was made integral to it instead of being a separate part. -
