The UDT/SEAL museum in Fort Pierce is about 35 minutes away from where my parents live in Florida. Last time I was there, it was a fraction of the size it is now. I’ll have to stop by there and get an etching of this man’s name off the memorial wall to keep with the shirt.

I picked up one of the brown (coyote, tan) M9 LAN-Cay examples shown above by DaBomb on E-Bay. Fastex marked June 01; no unit commemorative or Saber marking on the back side of the riscasso- just blank. NOS condition. I wish there was more info on it. Seller also had a black one.

Hello there, I recently bought this bayonet with the scabbard but I am suspicious about the flaming bomb marking on the scabbard. The paint around the stamp is a bit goldfish and you can see the grey metal in the grooves. Is this a fake/restored stamp or normal? Thanks in advance. -BC

Hey there.    How well would my kit work for a Huế City impression? If not, what battles would this work best for?   Thanks!   Wade

As we are starting to thaw out here in Michigan it marks the start of "Yard Sale Season".  Hit the only one I saw on an overcast, balmy 52 degree Saturday.  This was the only military item there.  While it is not something I collect, I could not leave it behind.     Thanks for looking!   OD

Hi all,   I hate to let this one go, but I have acquired some new items lately that are a better “fit” with my general collecting interests and therefore need to free up some funds and space.   This shirt was a local (Atlanta area) find at a thrift store. It seems to be a private purchase wool shirt with only a 5th Rangers scroll sewn onto the left shoulder. This scroll, however, seems to be a scarce (but heavily worn) German made example as shown in this thread:    The shirt is ID’d on the inside to CPT Joseph Hilsman, who appears to have been the Battalion Surgeon of the 5th Rangers (though he joined them after D-Day). According to an online article (https://warfarehistorynetwork.com/article/rangers-led-the-way-at-zerf/), he participated in the Battle of Irsch-Zerf: “Col. Sullivan told me I was in charge of the Medics until a replacement Doctor joined us. He told me to go into the big bunker which we used for prisoners and do the best we could to handle the wounded along with the Company Medics until the replacement doctor arrived. God was with us because this doctor (Captain Joe Hilsman) arrived before were cut off. A dispensary was set up in house and this doctor did a fantastic job under very difficult conditions. Due to heavy prisoner load that we had captured they were kept in a big bunker and we took care of their wounded as best we could. He deserves a great deal of credit for taking care of all the wounded under the most difficult conditions…small arms fire, artillery, mortars, rockets that continually hit the area!”   In addition, his obituary (https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/joseph-hilsman-obituary?pid=183678546) mentions he was one of the first US Medal Officers present at Buchenwald.   What would be a fair price for this piece of Rangers history?   Thank you in advance for any input!   Fred
