One time on here i saw someone collected military trash cans. I thought that was a bit odd but to each his own. However, I just saw on the forum on Facebook that someone was buying a casket used to bring a body home. Some people replied to say they had seen some in a museum. While odd, i can understand a museum having one but an individual? I just thought that was very odd and quite a bit creepy. What is the strangest item you have seen anyone collect? ...Kat -

Nice jacket though I would disagree with you on size 34 being a rare size, in my dealings it’s actually the most common size as they’re weee few sailors that size, the larger sizes are rare not the smaller sizes. Is this a for sale ad? -

Here is an award that was in a grouping from a vet I knew. Looks like it's in lucite or some sort of epoxy. on the back it says Blackinton. He was a WW2 vet that stayed in the reserve after the war. Mark -

Thanks for resurrecting this. Might be, I think there were several iterations. As I am aware, the Marines used the one’s with some shearling as discussed in the thread. I have seen different modifications on jackets used possibly by other personnel (Navy) or civilian, like lack of leather trim around pockets, or a different design on that trim. I think original photographs of these jackets in wear are still the best reference for collectors (especially Marine collectors).
