That is a really nice all original Sampson Medal in perfect condition.   

Otter 42, we must think alike... the tiny primer hole *is* large enough to draw air through (I tried it 🧐), but seems to be small enough to keep anything of real consequence from passing through.

Small differences between the B-16 jacket and B-17 jacket. Mouten collar in two pieces on the B-16, one piece on the B-17.     Placement of the tab on the back of the collar.     Attachment of the loop for hanging the jacket.     Snaps of the pockets reversed and of brass and steel.     Talon zipper on the B-16 jacket, Conmar zipper on the B-17 jacket.     Seams above the slash pockets.

I found this on Vintage Leather Jackets forum: US Army Air Force Specification No. 3224 for Jacket, Intermediate Flying, WASP, Type B-16. This was found by accident in the D-1 jacket specifications! Enjoy!

Work on the jeep continues as usual, but at the moment is at a phase where there is not much visible progress. I am now busy with cleaning and stripping the interior of the body. A few previously overlooked small holes were welded, and with all those edges, profiles and other small nooks & crannies stripping it back to bare metal is quite a time-consuming- and dirty job...       All the bare metal is now in a coat of primer, but it will be a few weeks more work to finish this.    

I read the Book Bridge at Remagen. It was nice to find a Silver Star releative listed in the back of the book! Nice finds!
