While going through various bins and boxes earlier today I came out a few surprises. Another Camillus MC1, which I listed, a couple Camillus pocket knives, Camillus pilot survival knife dated 3/1967, F/S second pattern knife, a few Victorinox , paratrooper wings and a CIB    This isn’t the first I came across a few small surprised that I packed in smaller boxes and stored them in larger bibs/boxes.      The Camillus MC1 I listed 

They did not use aluminum, they used the alloy Doron, which was invented in 1945, so it was more expensive then aluminum vests, The US was the only country producing Doron, they were trying to keep them from getting in the hands of the Japanese, (it was so late war, Germany and Italy already surrendered) and Later the Soviet Union, so During WWII they were only used on the clean up during Okinawa, (the marines who were supposed to test it during the battle were held in reserve) so the alloy was kind of a state secret, because it made light enough and ballistic enough, so it was expensive because of the alloy, and used less then it could have because they were trying to keep the Soviets from getting their hands on it.

I could be wrong, but to me it appears to be a Naval Bravo flag. It was an all-red square or swallowtail flag used to signal that a ship is handling dangerous cargo or explosives. Country of origin? Unsure, but I'd say it belonged to the U.S. or British based off the markings.   Hope this helped, Hayden
