Yes I believe you do I would check his dress uniform for a patch but I can't as my dad striped it down in the 80s when he was a kid so I don't think the patch is still around I can ask my grandfather tomorrow -

I have this, what appears to be a period hand engraved PH to an 8th AF aircrew member. I put it under a USB microscope and saw this "swish" comin out from the "u" in Paul almost looks like a mistake that was filled in with the gold lacquer or finish they used to conceal the defect? I never noticed it until I put it under a loupe, what do you folks think? Thanks in advance -

Do I see an armored triangle on his jacket? Both 3rd and 4th armoured were there in 62. -

Yes, I am looking for his jacket or a similar one, but I'm just hoping that someone on here has a jacket that is the same or a jacket I understand this is very difficult with the lack of info -

So you are looking for the actual jacket/uniform worn by your grandfather? I can’t even guess how many individuals named Hughes wore a uniform. -

In this time frame, to include Vietnam, what Branch were Army Air Controllers in, you know the guys in the tall towers directing and overseeing take offs and landings, the MOS we're seeing then is 93B, where did they take AIT, can't find nothing on this, were they Signal Corps, Transportation Corps, perhaps Branch Unassigned???? can't find nothing on this either. We assume now since the forming of a specific Aviation Branch in the 1980s the ATC are from that branch, correct? -
