. Visiting my new grand-daughter and friends last week. Last week I nipped across to the UK to visit my daughter and my new grand-daughter born last month, While there I visited long time Jeeping friends in Dorset, we visited Swanage railway station and took the opportunity for a Then and Now photo of the station when a British Bren Gun Carrier was parked outside the station during WWII Shown is a brown and cream traditional British Railways enamelled sign these were colloquially known as a hot-dog style of sign. The rail-line is now operated as a museum style organisation with visitors paying for rides back and forth on the line by either vintage steam driven engines or diesel driven engines. While there I had the opportunity to have made a couple of copies of the tradition enamelled made signs, one for my grandson William and one for my garage. Norman D. Hello all, I'm Dan and I work in Omaha. I'm a DOW CIV and spouse of a USN retiree. I collect patches and I try to learn the history or function of the unit. Typically I don't collect a patch because it looks cool, but that never hurts 😂. My focus is STRATCOM and the Triad chain, COCOMS, and local units. Here are some of my STRATCOM patches. -

For the CIB collectors, what would you consider to be the rarest British made version? Just going by what I've seen offered I'm thinking Narborough Co. (marked F.N. B'Ham). -

Hello Chuck most of the militaria i get involved in buying is usually Fairs/Shows or on line ordering. London is a different place to 20 years ago , much as i assume New York must be for you. There are still some shops, Blighty militaria, well st ,Hearts and Daggers ,Islington, lots of markets still such as Charring cross collectors market, Grays antiques market, Afies Antique market. Type antiques emporium london into the interweb and lots will pop up. I cant think of a shop even out of London that would be anything like the surplus stores you have in the states Have a great time looking though. besst regards Colin. -

The Air Corps plate appears to be from a Douglas C-47 that went to the USAAF, then to the RAF and then back to the USAAF. The Lockheed plate looks to be from a 10A Electra that was powered by P&W Wasp Jr engines. -
