That is a nice yardlong, the detail is good enough to put a name to some faces. Come to think of it, I seem to remember seeing another one of these yardlongs with information showing who was kia and wounded.

The title of the auction comes close to telling you exactly what they are. 

Here are some better pics of my reissued 1918 Colt M1911. I took the time to field strip and lubricate the pistol, got to see the honest finish wear on some of the internal components from the years of service. Is $2,000 within current market value for a rearsenaled 1918 Colt M1911 in good condition? 

Here is a Camp Toccoa photograph of Co C of the 517th Parachute Infantry Reg. These men were most famous for Operation Dragoon though they fought heavily in Italy and later in the Ardenne. They suffered over 80 percent casualties. I took the images outside in the evening, thus the blue hue.

Granted auctions come at a cost but also can be more of a benefit if looking to have the best exposure.    I would suggest contacting Jeff Shrader of Advanced Guard Militaria/ Bannerman's Auctions as he is now doing military auctions. Jeff has been a well-established militaria dealer and appraiser for many years as well as appraiser for Antique Road Show. For me he would be ideal place/setting for this type of collection.
