Was worth getting up at 5 am to go to the flea market this morning.  All of this was buried in with all kinds of non-military flea market junk being sold by people who had no clue about militaria (my kind of seller). The NJ State Police patch was a great find because they are controlled items and authentic examples are really tough to find.  Laying all by itself on the dollar table.   I bought the SGM chevron because it's hallmarked "Ken Nolan".  I used to get his catalogues in the 1970's.  Never knew he hallmarked this type insignia. The 83rd Chemical Motor Bn DUI is German-made. And the Combat Artillery Badge is probably Japanese-made, based on the really nice enamel.

This is the first bullion CBI patched uniform in my collection, glad I was able to find it. How many 10th items do you have?

Right?? I saw it rolled up and initially brushed it off as a repro but then decided to examine it further, as soon as I saw the center seal I knew I had to get it, the LCS-86 Pack was the nail in the coffin for that trip, no regrets.

      It’s a VERY confusing topic.

      > Currently in Vol 1 (of 3) Solzhenitsyn's "Gulag Archipelago"  - it's a LONG slog, believe me, as most Russian literature is. Been meaning to attempt that history for a long time. Now that I'm 80, I figure I'd best hurry it up a bit. What fascinates me about it is the relationship of Bolshevik to Soviet to Axis to Allied to Russian military interactions all those decades, and our role in it all.

I am well aware of that - and I specifically said “OP’s example aside”.   You made a sweeping statement that Navy Hearts were only wrap or split broach, and I corrected that misinformation.      Nothing more or less.
