Thanks for your insight kurtA. Could the note be true if Holsinger was was on another ship during the surrender ceremony? It doesn't specify he was on the Missouri. My research shows Holsinger being a Major when assigned to MacArturs staff. Is the note on a Majors uniform? Can someone let me know what rank each of the uniforms represents? I could also use some help pairing the shirts with the correct jackets. I'm also not sure if the hat that is pictured with one of the shirts goes with the uniforms. It was not hanging in the closet with them. -

I suppose this is a late 40’s USN G-1 leather flight jacket. It has a strange (to me) tag. Was there another tag in the jacket? Remnants of a small one in the right pocket. Conmar zipper, no USN on the collar. The front of the collar looks odd, like it is not symmetrical. Just what do I have? The cuffs are missing (spare set in the pocket) the waist band is shot. -

Really nice collection, some good videos on youtube about the PRC77 and 77a, worth looking into. -

Nice find! My initial thought from the title was a fictional account of Martian 'mars' men in Burma, a book about space aliens invading a country in Southeast Asia. -

His BSM citation shows him as being assigned to the 17th Cavalry Recn Squadron (Mech) in France during Aug 44: Source: NARA The 15th Cavalry Regiment (Mech), as shown above in the morning reports, was disbanded during Mar 44 in England and split up to become HHT 15th Cavalry Group (Mech), and the 15th and 17th Recn Squadrons. The 17th Recn Squadron (Mech) was attached to the 15th Cavalry Group (Mech). There was a 113th Cavalry Group (Mech) in the ETO with the 113th and 125th Cavalry Recn Squadrons attached. -
