Amateur collector, ex-cop, gun nut and currently a military contractor that helps design and test new weapon systems. I have 10 years playing World of Tanks on Xbox. I recently inherited some uniforms that I think have historical significance. I'll post some pictures soon and see what you think. -

That was super helpful. You nailed it. I think the texture/construction of the flag threw me. Thanks for the help atb. -

There's a long post in the WW1 category all about First Army WW1 SSI. It shows examples. Yours has a badly proportioned orange device that represents Signal Corps units assigned to First Army. See the aforementioned post to verify. -

I attended the monthly flea market today. I am proud to say that despite seeing a few militaria things I would have otherwise wanted to buy or at least ask the price of, I walked away without any of them! But I did find this nifty brand new straw hat for only $5.00 US! I needed a new hat and this was perfect. mikie -

Exactly! I have never seen this one before. Maybe atb. The symbol looks orange to me, which might be consistent with Signals. But I would have expected crossed flags or something. Moderator, senior moment. I meant to put this in the patch section. Please feel free to move it. -

There was this guy in my Infantry company mid 80's. His last name was Klinkenbeard. Back in the day in High School, there was a guy on the football team named Richard Long. There once was a Man from Nantucket.... Never mind..... I noticed something back in the day when we used to have to stand in line to get paid. The guys whose last names started with A... Got paid first! -

Nice patch. I’ve never seen it before. What does that “device” signify?
