Typically, now, I just do this and display footwear next to the footless mannequins. Since I now have "footed" mannequins too, I don't have examples where I've stuffed pants/trousers inside the boots anymore, but you might get the idea of how easy it would be to do. Dave -

US M7 bayonet was for the M16 series rifles and M4 until the introduction of the M9 bayonet in the 1990s. -

The only "LOL" is mine. Clearly you are reading it into your "journey". My LOL was in response to Kurt's AAF find. I'm an AAF collector. -

this might interest you. 48 star US Navy ensign for a ship, manufactured at the San Diego Navy Yard in May 1943. It’s a no 7 flag, roughly 5x9 feet, with original line and fittings. I see lots of flags marked Mare Island but not San Diego. Jim -

This is from the Facebook group. Not an actual purple heart. I'm thinking it's from the Military Order of the Purple Heart. https://www.facebook.com/groups/346212962178612/posts/4103939256405945 -

Based upon the FM 23-33 with Change 1 posted here, and reading FM23-33s dated September 1965 and July 1970, the use of Promethium for illumination on the front sight started with the M72A2 at some point and is not on the M72 or M72A1. My M72 is dated 6-67, and my M72A2 is dated 1-79. When I acquired the M72A2 the front sight was missing and I bought one off eBay. The front sight turned out to be from Vietnam, I don't know if it has the illumination. The tube is also marked "LIMITED LIGHT SIGHT." It may be that the LAWs that made it to Vietnam didn't have the illumination, as the July 1970 only covers through the M72A1. Note that the M72A1 has the same general configuration as the M72A2, so it may be that the illumination started with the M72A2 and those LAWs may not have made it to Vietnam.
