Hello all. Long ago I received several items of US Civil War militaria and have always had some questions about these; I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. One item in particular is a US cartridge case for rifle, I believe model of 1855. The case is in quite good condition, but it's pretty dried out & cracked and I would like to conserve this before it starts to crumble.   I'll take a shot at uploading some pics here, just to get started

Very nice old style 2.75 rocket....I have a few different style ( both older and newer). Not to derail your thread, but I recently acquired this Soviet era 122mm rocket, it is about 12 ft...200 plus pounds.

All these documents belong to Lt Col Clair W. Shisler USMC. Picked them up at a estate sale. Hundreds of his personal documents along with maps, photos, invasion plans he participated in, Three booklets of in the field messages during the Kiska campaign. I bought a nice field desk for his documents also. Picked up a garment bag that belonged to him also.

I picked up a mk 23 model 6 bombsight that is attached to a mk41 periscope. Does anyone know what it might be off of? The only thing i could find online said the bombsight was from a P2v Neptune anti submarine aircraft but would that have had a periscope?

SOURCE:  Ancestry.com   Note:  These are just the records with the keyword "Raider" in them for Roy W. Jennings.  There are more records though.

Looks correct.  You asked for opinions, here’s mine:   The majority of the value is in the sheath, as the knife has been broken, re-tipped, and shortened considerably - and not a stellar job at that.  It’s too bad, as the handle is in good shape. The right way to do that job is to remove material the entire length of the blade, in order to keep the same geometry.  Ship has sailed.     I sold a solid Raider sheath, with keeper, for $225 not long ago.  As your is missing the keeper, and depending if the crease below the plate is deep, I’d dial it down accordingly.     The range is broad on these, driven by condition and attribution.

I found a Roy W. Jennings in the Raider roster which matches the initials on the sheath.

Hi, thanks for your kind words. That is a nice jacket you have! It seem to be in really good shape.
