Marching up through time, here are two more systems now obsolete I would imagine. especially the woodland. Both came with the Alice gear. -

I remember being issued two canteens and covers but only one canteen cup when I was stationed at Ft Campbell 85-89. Doubtful being in aviation made much difference in what I was issued as far as LBE went. The holster for my .38 was issued at the BN level and not CIF. By 1990 I was in the National Guard and how they issued equipment I would not use as a guide to answer the OPs question. -

Precisely. A cold weather mitten does not fit into a black shell glove. Seeing as how I mentioned the black shelled glove, I never took into account that anyone would get stumped by the mitten comment..Never even thought about it. Naturally a one trigger finger cold weather mitten would never fit into a black leather glove. Thatd prob be why I did not write that I found a set of cold weather one trigger finger mittens. I just wrote insert mittens for the Black gloves... Seemed self explanatory...? And thats what I meant. I kind of figured that should have been a clue that Im not referring to the others. It has been an interesting mitten debate though. The mittens have spun a lot of yarn!!! -

Those are smart looking knives, interesting to see that they got some use in Korean War, I hadn't even anticipated them making it over there at that time. -

Your M1911A1 was manufactured sometime in 1942 judging by the W.B. inspector stamp and serial number. If you don’t mind me asking where did you get it and for how much?
