Staff Sergeant ranked MP set, unfortunately no unit identification. Likely worn in the late 1950s or early 1960s. -

As much as I hate to admit it it, at over 60 years of age, the minute details of my time in are a getting a little foggy. So please pardon my use of the wrong names for certain pieces of gear. As in Mitten inserts instead of Glove inserts... In all honesty, The black Gloves, I thought made it clear of what I was referring to. Anyhow, I thought you would all enjoy the throwback, now obsolete gear some of us used to carry. Something else I remember about the old gear is, its ergonomics.... Or complete lack of it... It only got comfortable as you got used to wearing it and making little adjustments to it. Otherwise, to the un initiated, it wasnt comfortable. Some of the newer gear with the vests with ammo pouches etc,, attached to a web belt, looks much more comfortable and less likely to snag on branches etc. -
