It is very thorough and I owe you for your effort!    Since Clarence is my Grandfather (I was 2 or3 when he passed), I will also assume the ring was his or he was able to obtain it in some manner. I know he was a truck driver in the service and a blacksmith by trade. He did not serve overseas. The logo with the 57 in the star is unique to anything I have been able to find.   I also have this framed poster with Arthur’s name. He did spend some time overseas.   Thank you for all this information.

Blackout lamp beach find 2008.   despite searching my computer files for nearly two hours I finally found this image by chance.   I found this smashed lamp on Utah beach in 2008 and recognised it as the lens and bulb for a blackout lamp as I had seen a lens previously when working on fixing a blackout lamp on a Jeep.  The pattern on the glass lens and the size of the lamp is indicative of a blackout lamp, they are smaller than headlamps.     Norman D.
