You could be right, but in the 3rd photo attached it shows the ink stamp that matches Korean War era US belts. The ink is too faded to read, but the stamp is there.

. hi earlymb& Johan,   while we are talking about Jeep wing blackout lamps then I refer everyone back to a post I made 31st march 2021, my neighbours find in the lane outside his house. a post I made five years ago to tomorrow's  date 31st march.     I must now cut off and phone my sister, but I will return and look for the smashed wing light lamp I found on Utah beach several years ago and post it later.        Norman D. There is no way to assess value with that wrap-around grip on it - specifically since it was converted to a “bullseye” gun - likely in the 70s / 80s.     In about half of the cases I’ve seen of these, the front strap (space on frame between bottom of trigger guard and magazine well) has been stippled with a punch or other tool.  If that is the case, collector value has been lost and it’s worth the sum of parts / shooter value.     If the frame has not been altered, some guys TRY to restore them, but 1 in 100 can find a slide that matches maker, finish / wear.  In the event that they need to re-phosphate them (“Parkerize”), you’re left with a non-arsenal refinish and back to shooter value.  Ten years ago, maybe a little different story, but the 100K of these coming out of CMP has made them more obtainable.     There is a remote possibility that they didn’t mill the slide groove and dovetail for the added sights.  If that is the case, one could drift a GI rear sight back on and solder a front leaf in place.  It just depends upon who did the work. I would need to see a lot better pics to know - particularly of the inside of the slide in the front sight location.   Honestly, bravo to the LGS that offered you $650.  In an era where everybody wants to double their money, that seems pretty generous.  No way I see that as a $1300 gun.  I guess it depends how much hassle the little extra money is worth to an individual, but I don’t see whatever extra “juice” you get from listing it as worthwhile.   All just my opinion.

I figured I’d just finish posting and your question would be answered.   Not all the photos on the list are present.
