The reports on the flight engineer who didn’t eject but died in the crash.

The reports on the pilot who managed to eject but their belt didn’t open and they were still in their seat when they hit the tail of the aircraft.   Each report is several pages.

Well.  To “restore” it would require another slide and perhaps a barrel if not the original one.  The shop is not going to sell it for what they paid so a new buyer would be into it for well over $1k at that point minus proper grips. i like it as is but that is me. My .02 says hang it on Gunbroker and put some really nice pix and let the auction run.  I think you would be better off.

Here is the report on the F-86 accident.   Its recommended that the ejection seat be given more power so it will clear the tail of the aircraft when ejecting.

This is the first time I’ve ever found anything like this.    There is a fair amount of paperwork detailing how a civilian test pilot and his flight engineer lost their lives while testing the F-86 out of Dover AFB.   The first picture shows the order for the formation of the accident investigation team with the name of the AF Captain who this report came from.

Hi,   Here is the uniform of Commander Bob Aumack, who joined VF-162 aboard the USS Orskany in August 1967 and assumed command in February 1968. He had been the Blue Angels’ In-Command (OIC) since 1964. The uniform is fairly traditional, with pockets on the lower part of the jacket. The first letter of his name and the last four digits of his service number (505786) are written in marker on the jacket collar. A pen pocket is sewn onto the right sleeve, suggesting he was left-handed. The vinyl pocket that was on the left sleeve has been unstitched (traces remain on the sleeve).  This is the uniform he is wearing in the attached photo. The zipper is located at the bottom of the right cargo pocket on the pants. I’m skeptical about its purpose! Perhaps it’s to allow the blade of an overly long knife to extend, but under anti-G pants, I’m not sure if that’s very comfortable! The model is different from the one worn at VA 152 during the same period, so there were likely multiple suppliers. The purchases must have been made by the squadrons. Attached is a photo of the two camouflage patterns, which are nevertheless very similar. Best Croc
