Hi guys, I am considering adding this US Medal of Freedom to my WW2 medal collection. I am not very knowledgable about these awards and was wondering if there are any signs to determine if this is compatible with the WW2 period. Thanks for any thoughts -

The torch collar brass signifies education, and similar are often worn at military schools and academies, or ROTC programs. The other one is specific to PMA. I think I can see the keystone shape in the middle, which is a common symbol of Pennsylvania; Pennsylvania is also nicknamed "the Keystone State." -

Looks like an M5 cavalry horse gasmask pouch modified into a pack. -

Just got this MA-2 torso harness at a WW2 reenactment for $40! Probably the best deal I’ve ever had, like, ever. It’s size Extra Large Regular, and the date is probably anywhere from 1963 to 67, I’m not sure because it’s just unintelligible at this point. It has some different rigger made pouches added on, with the 2 of those D rings added I imagine so the original owner could use the LPA-1 or 2 without an SV-2, and an interestingly placed liner pad from an APH-6. Overall, the vest looks like it’s barely been used, and the buckles are near mint. The seller had a bunch of milsurp with just a few aircrew items, but alongside the MA-2, he was selling a pair of heavily worn Z-3’s for $150 and a gear set of an APH-6C, early CWU-27/P, SV-2B, LPA-2 with pouches, and CSU-15/P for $1,000. Would’ve gotten it if I had the money on hand (thankfully I didn’t). Anywho, it was a crazy deal, and I’m definitely enjoying it. Thank you very much - Ryan -

Hi Nestor. Nope, unfortunately another fake. By the way, “QLVNCH” Is the acronym for Quân lực Việt Nam Cộng hòa, which translates to the “Republic of Vietnam Military Forces”. Not sure why this lighter would have that, instead of just the acronym for the ARVN Rangers (Biệt Động Quân), as is on the one side. If you’re a South Vietnamese Ranger we already know you’re in the Republic of Vietnam Military Forces.
