I'm starting out with M1923 Cartridge Belt.

My late father used this equipment flying RNOAF (Royal Norwegian Air Force) Republic F-84G between 1957 and 1961. I assume it’s of US origin. We trained our jet fighter pilots in Canada late fifties, at RCAF Claresholm and RCAF Gimli etc.

What are you wondering. I’ll probably be able to help you with it.

I'm currently researching information about equipment used in Vietnam for my Diorama I'm building. The topic I have is Jerrycans.   Were all Jerrycans Olive Drab regardless of the contents inside? Were there any distinguishing marks, labels or printing on them?   I really could not find any images of them being in colors other than Olive Drab. Not a whole lot of images out there had Jerrycans in them and most of them were black and white. The diorama will be a U.S. Army themed based on Qui Nhon Base West Gate Entry. Example would be a M54A2 leaving the base with escort carrying fuel and supplies ((Jerrycans, Barrels, Ammo, and MRE Boxes) towards Da Nang. Any information would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks for any information provided.

Are you asking a question? I don’t quite understand.

My old friend of almost 50 years, Peter Helm, passed on May 21st. You will all know him as the kid on Omaha Beach in The Longest Day that drops his rifle. He dives behind cover next to Robert Mitchum and is told to go back and get his rifle. Peter was in numerous tv shows and movies in the 60’s and 70’s, including Combat, Bonanza, The Andromeda Strain, Inside Daisy Clover and many, many others. Peter was also a pilot and huge aviation enthusiast. He crewed for us on Executive Sweet for many years and travelled to countless airshows with us. All the while, filming and taking photos as Peter never ceased doing. He always caught my worst landings on film, lol. Peter was a truly great guy that would do anything for a friend and was always full of life. He will be greatly missed!   John

Welcome, JFK. What kind of militaria do you collect?
