Since I posted this query,  I have been searching on the internet and reading threads here. Seems like this is an old unanswered question. So, I have found the Royal Brand diamond trademark with no country of origin, England, Japan, Germany and U.S.A..   Other Royal Brand markings on pocket knifes, table cutlery, carving sets, steels and of course fighting knives. Nobody has come across an old advertisement or box.   Several mentioning Utica and made in New York, cica 1940-1950  by appearance of similar a manufacturing style. Imperial is also mentioned, 1920-1940 for the same observation. But no hard evidence yet.    I think knife makers just liked the name or there was a market for that trademark so maybe many knife makers co-oped it.   Still searching.   

OD plastic E-tool cover ERDL or Mitchell cover, not woodland  simple black “silent” M16 sling flack jacket?  Cant say I ever remember seeing anyone CONUS wearing a flack jacket in the field except on the grenade range and they were supplied by the range.

See pics posted above. "HoodWinks" is at top of the page, like it's the name of the paper. The paper tells about what's going on in the war. I can see where my grandfather marked it, pertaining to him and the 90th "T.O.s". I was curious if it was like a military paper that went out everywhere (which if you haven't heard of it, I guess not) or what the heck it was. One page had my grandfather listed. I don't mean to bombard y'all with questions or with my ignorance. I'm very appreciative for all the help!

Between the AI video and use of video from years ago, how do we know what is true video?.  When we look back on this time, it will show the truth vs fake. During WWII, Hitler produced lots of propaganda video later proven faked. Time will tell....

"We do not know what is truly going on right now in Iran. We can speculate. History will look back on this time and will have a completely different analysis than what is being portrayed right now..."   Yup... or, we could be satisfied with daily video loops of exploding ordnance.

I recently acquired two similar unit crests of which the one with the light blue fields and green helicopter was ID'd (in this forum back in Oct 2016) as an unofficial C Troop 17th Cavalry DUI. The other version has a white and  darker blue field with a white helicopter.  Are both crest attributed to Charlie Troop or does the color variants belong to different troops.  Both crests have beefy clutch pins, no hallmark stamp,  and could be unofficial German made crests.  Any feedback is appreciated.   v/r   MHD

Your grandfather was part of the 90th infantry division and there should be some literature out there in the world about where they were, in terms of fighting across Europe, to help determine where he was when wounded in mid February 1945. I don't know what you are referring to with "hoodwinks".

Many ordnance manufacturers chrome plated their products (grenades, mortars, rockets, mines, etc.) as presentation items.

Very interesting story.  Being a former Marine myself, I can empathize with the annoyance of a ringing bell.  Marines have a tendency to go overboard with things like that.  Especially uniform and wall locker inspections.  A unit I was once with had mandatory uniform inspections prior to any 72- or 96-hour pass.  The commanding officer did not delegate other officers to help inspect.  He inspected every single Marine.  These inspections would take hours and hours.  It got so bad I dreaded any 72- or 96-hour pass.  I would have rather just worked the normal day and lose the pass time than go through the inspection.   Thank you for sharing this story.  Interesting.
