Gazoo, I see in this earlier post you have a WW1 geodetic survey insignia. Do you have the other geodtic insignia or variants? I have a different version of the surgeon pin and have not seen all variations.

Hello to all my forum friends!   This isn't exactly a recent find, but rather something I wanted to display with one of my World War I American helmets. A few months ago, I met a man who made all sorts of knives, including some from Damascus steel. He’s very well known in my area and works mostly for hunters.   He showed me how to forge this special steel. I decided to make a trench knife, a "Le Vengeur" (The Avenger), to display with one of my French infantry helmets from World War I. He offered to make me a second one from a new bar of Damascus steel. This time, I wanted to pay tribute to the 2nd US Infantry Division, so I asked him to engrave the insignia of the 9th Infantry Regiment on the scabbard.   I just wanted to share the result with you.   Now, I'm going to display the helmet and the knife together.   Have a great day!

Hello,   I recently acquired a unit crest attributed to the 155th IN based on motto and similar design.  Is the variant with the additional circle and 3 stars actually a different unit?  Thank you in advance for your replies and insight.   v/r   MHD

I put a few things on my profile if you'd like to have a look.  The army still owes him a meal! He still had a mess hall pass. Lol You collect paperwork? Do you know what "HoodWinks" is?

I bought a misc grouping of dive items at a garage sale this weekend and had a hunch it was early UDT equipment.    I believe the grouping is a Korean War UDT grouping containing the following:   1) BG-159 rubberized bag 2) set of early swimmaster giant udt duck feet fins.  Not navy marks 3) neopreme wet suit bottom with no nylon skins, no markings 4) Neopreme hood with no nylon  5) pair of size 6 rubber dipped booties, no other markings   Unfortunately I have found no names or ID on any of these items. There is a name tags on the bag but no name. Ill take a better look.    I would love to hear your thoughts    Thanks
