Very neat to have this from your grandfather! To answer your question, yes, there is a lot of this kind of stuff out there. Figure, there were over 16 million Americans who served in WWII. Paperwork to soldiers is something a relatively small number of collectors go after. For those of us who do collect paper, it is nice to read the small details, especially from a soldier who saw combat on the ground. -

I picked up one of these newsletters. Here are the front ant back covers. The application to join/renew on the back cover clearly shows who could become a member: Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Widow of Woman member of Armed Forces attached to AAF. -

Here is what I see in value. $350-$500 based on his service. He was in North Africa late in the war, but did not see any action before then. I have sold those shield bibles im the original box on Ebay for $50-75 . Kurt -

No, I was in the Field Artillery. Spent time with units that had division bands and lived on Ft McNair for a short time, just around the corner from The Army Band (Pershing's Own). -

This might be a long shot, since the shoulder patch in this image is only barely visible. I'm trying to identify the unit for the very elderly brother of this soldier. I have no information about him other than his name, the fact that he may have come ashore on Omaha Beach on D+1 or D+2, and that he may have served (or enlisted with) another local soldier who was part of the 391st Armored Field Artillery (AA). Don't know if this is an Anti-Aircraft Command patch or something else entirely.
