Here are some of my items related to the USS Oklahoma.  I'm throwing one item in here from the USS Oklahoma City (an ashtray) since it's the only USS Oklahoma City item of mine.

BZ Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane     News Article - Federal News Network 03/20/2026 Defense   New “drone killer” cartridge aims to give Marines a simple, low‑cost solution  << link to full article   "The way we designed the ammunition, we're reusing the same cartridge case, the same primer, the propellant that's being used today," said Brian Hoffman. Terry Gerton March 20, 2026 12:36 pm   Guest:  Brian Hoffman Title:  Manned portable weapons chief engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane   Summary:  As adversaries lean heavily on small drones for surveillance and strikes, U.S. forces need a response that doesn’t slow them down. Engineers focused on low cost and plug‑and‑play integration and early testing suggests they may have found it.   EXCERPT: Terry Gerton And so this kind of munition as I read it in a layman’s term is like birdshot, right? It’s a shotgun style sort of pellet. Tell us how it works.   Brian Hoffman Yeah, in general, that’s not too far off from reality. But DKC, the way it increases an operator’s readiness and lethality against UAS threats. Is we’re pairing the ammunition with standard issue weapons that are already in service today. So operators can take their rifles, their machine guns, without any gun part modifications and simply pair those guns with DKC. And then DKC at the crux of the ammunition, it does what we refer to as projectile multiplication, which then leads to the extended range shotgun style effects or birdshot as you put it. But basically you’re getting more than one subprojectile dispersed per round fire. But because we’re shooting those rounds through rifles and machine guns, we can leverage higher pressures, longer range, higher velocities, higher energies, do more damage at range on target and create more devastating effects. So in a sense, yes, we are creating shotgun style effects. We’re getting broader area coverage, not just on the target, but around the target. And that is absolutely critical to help offset imperfect aim. When you think about it, there’s definitely a clear analogy to hunting birds with shotguns. You know, there is a good reason why hunters do use shotguns because hitting aerial targets is not easy and it’s the same challenge fundamentally when it comes to trying to engage and kill drones. And so when we’re putting up more projectiles around that space, it helps offset if you don’t have the perfect aim, you can still engage with confidence and know that you’re going to hit that drone and take down that drone.   Link to the full discussion above

No I rarely bid on aviator flight suits but while searching for things that I do collect I came across this piece and liked the direct embroidery.  I thought why not you might get lucky as one patch was missing which might discourage other bidders and I was right.

Just a learning tip:   Since you couldn't really read the whole first name on the tag one could do a search like this below on Find-A-Grave.com and it would've come up with a short list of possible people who the tag could've belonged to.  Note that I also have clicked on the Veteran square below to try and narrow the results.  In this case there were 11 matches.  Then look through each trying to find a Captain or above in descriptions, etc.       The other way to have done the search would be to put two question marks in the First Name field followed by what you can read on the tag, that is "ustino" and you would come up with an exact match and this is what I used.  Just remember you have to use the appropriate amount of question marks in the correct place and then do the search.  If you try one question mark and it doesn't find any matches, then try two question marks, since we didn't know exactly how many letters there were on the tags first name.

Nice one, that was annoying me. I don't like anything going unidentified, even when I know it doesn't belong with my collection!
