You know you could probably get away wearing this upside down if your're a Specialist, one would have to look real real close to see the difference, first and even third and fourth  glances just make it look like a voided variant LOL

Some one broke off most of the subdued CSM pin and placed on a Scorpion Rank Camo tab LOL

This might be a post-WW2 knife for the Medical Department of the Navy (USN).  The WW2 knives referenced by aznation in Post #2 have four blades.  The printing on the main blade is often found on post-war knives.  I couldn't find the exact knife in Silvey's book "Pocket Knives of the United States Military" but a couple of knives for the USN Medical Department were shown on page 119, and there were several examples shown with the "PROPERTY OF U.S. GOV'T" on the main blade in the post-war section of the book.  I have some post-war knives with the same printing on the main blades.

Out of LIKEs so here you go… 👍👍👍!  there is a lot to ponder here so I’ve got some pondering to do.  Once I’ve pondered sufficiently, I’ll post some comments. Unless my sadly failing memory forgets all about it. See, I just had to scroll to the top to because I forgot what I was applying to.   mikie

👍 No problem in the Mikie household. Washing dishes is my area of responsibility and I don’t like using the dishwasher. All our dishes have my personally handcrafted scrubbed and shiny cleanliness.  mikie

Hello all! Recently joined the forum and have enjoyed searching through the old posts and viewing everyone’s collections. Excited to dig a little deeper and post some of my own content.   I’m the relative of a pilot who flew for the 405th Fighter Group - 509th Fighter Squadron in World War II. He arrived to the squadron as a replacement pilot in September 1944 while they were stationed at St. Dizier, France and flew 58 combat missions accruing 105 combat hours. He kept a pretty extensive archive of his service— complete with documents, photos, and even some artifacts from the 509th. Unfortunately, after his passing in 2007 the collection disappeared into the wind. I’ve spent my days trying to piece it back together!   For that reason, my primary interest is the 405 FG - 509 FS— particularly photographs of pilots, nose art, and aircraft. I keep a database of aircraft and pilots that I am always looking to update. If anyone has any interest in selling 405 FG or 509 FS artifacts or photo collections, don’t hesitate to reach out— even if it’s just copies or scans! I’m also always happy to assist with research and provide additional information on anything relating to the 405 FG where I can.   Looking forward to getting to know everyone on the forum and don’t hesitate to reach out if you think I can assist with anything 405 FG - 509 FS related! I included a photo of an original 509 FS A2 jacket— as well as a photo of Lt. M. A. Titre wearing the jacking in 1944. Enjoy! Good show, Schooner Squadron!

I also found a couple other insignia/pin from the Industrial Militar annotated in my previous post. Apparently a derivative out of Guatemala made insignia which some vintage ones are highly collectible. Here are a few other images:

If this were my medal, I would shorten the ribbon to the standard “no bar” length.    It would look much better.   Just takes some basic sewing skills.

It’s a law suit if you get hurt digging for junk.
