Ultimately it doesn't matter.  I'm just hoping for a good fit and durable, warm jacket!

I'm not sure but this is NOT an original N-1 if that's what you are hoping for. No offense intended. Should be plenty warm as-is. Dave

I’ve never really understood the “insurance value” concept (the term Antique Roadshow made so popular with collectors), but I would say the values you quoted are spot on with what they would sell for.

Iranian clerics are going to fight to the last fingernail, there is no life for the existing ruling class if they lose this.  There must be people on the ground trying to coordinate with defectors and protesters as they are the only hope of changing things.   If anything this campaign should help clear a way for them.   I don’t see how the two sides can coexist with one side wanting to control and the other wants to be free.

Measurements are my size, so it should fit just about perfect!  I'll get it in the mail tomorrow, so I'll be able to examine it more closely.  Does the lining/fur look like alpaca or an alpaca blend to your eye?

For insurance value (not what the items would sell for at auction): - Distinguished bombardier made by Rock Island Arsenal - $5-6000 - Sterling silver wings with gold US overlay, unknown maker - $2,500 - 3,000 - Air trophy - this would take more of a survey of like items and their sales records, more research into the tournament and the weight of silver in the object - TBD   However, this is all part of an archive, so you would be best to insure for the entire collection of his items. The photos by themselves are not considered high value as objects but would be worth more as part of the total archive.    I am not a professional appraiser. These are only estimates. The ones I have a better grasp on are based on current market examples. Only for discussion purposes.    Cheers, Tod

the ring on the pendant is not correct, It should not be round, The ribbon has been replaced. Is it numbered on the edge?   Kurt

It does appear to have been Re-Ribboned at some point along the way. That would be my assessment, plus as Blacksmith pointed out above, the Ribbon Drape does appear somewhat too long ?                      Dom P.

Shell paint is original WWII, but the "POPE" and yellow band look like modern additions to me.
