Looks like a repro to me. THe lining is also a clue as it looks synthetic material and the zipper is modern. -

Found this lighter in my Dad's collection of WWII memorabilia. He was in the Army Air Corps and flew in Burma and the Pacific. The lighter is silver and seems to be custom made with overlays appropriate to him. His initials, Robert T Cronau, JR, Army Air Corps insignia, a 3-masted sailing ship (he was from Hampton VA and there were those ships that landed at Jamestown, I can't come up with another reason), maybe a Burmese figure on the top half of the back for his service there?, the last top overlay on the front I have no idea about. Anyhow if you have any ideas, let me know! In any case enjoy looking at it. -

I posted a few in the What It's Worth section. I thought someone researching names would be particularly interested in these not for value as much as historic interest. I wasn't sure where to post them actually. Kathy -

These are interesting. Could you post some of your Grandfather's photos? Thanks. Steve -

Yes, they do. Look inside the pockets for a makers wash instructions/mfg tag (or evidence that it was removed) example
